Byron Johnston, CIC

President

Byron was born and raised in San Diego. He attended Saint Augustine High School and graduated from Saint Mary’s College with a Bachelor’s degree in English in 1995. His first job out of college was a sales agent at California Casualty. After the company relocated, he worked as a property claims adjuster at Farmers Insurance. In 1999 he joined Teague Insurance and started building his book of business. Byron is a second-generation insurance professional. His father, Walter Johnston, took over the agency in 1983 and built a great foundation. In 2011, Byron became president of Teague Insurance helping it become one of the largest privately held Independent Insurance Agencies in the San Diego Region today.

In his free time Byron enjoys fitness, soccer, and golf. His three children Aidan, Samira, and Layla keep him and his wife busy with their sports and activities.
